Nuclear Scintigraphy

The nuclear scintigraphy (bone scan) unit has been a major asset at the Randwick Equine Centre.

The technology has proven invaluable for identifying bone problems, particularly stress fractures, that radiographs (x-rays) cannot identify.

The unit has now been updated to a state of the art digital system, allowing the information to be obtained and analyzed in a digital computerized format. This allows more in-depth analysis of minor differences in radiopharmaceutical uptake.
