Ultrasonography

Randwick Equine Centre offers ultrasonography (ultrasound scans) in both the field and clinic.

The clinic offers a state of the art machine with Doppler function for cardiovascular assessment. This machine also offers the ability for storage of the information in a digital computerized format.

The ultrasound is invaluable for assessment of soft tissue injuries (tendons and ligaments), abdominal and thoracic cavities. The ultrasound machine is also used occasionally in surgery and also more recently to guide injection of bone cysts in joints.
